Sometimes when we sustain a physical injury, for example after an industrial work accident or a road traffic accident, we experience a degree of emotional distress. In fact it is not uncommon to experience strong psychological reactions soon after an injury or illness which can cause significant disruption to our lives.
One of the roles of a psychologist is to assess an individual following a traumatic event to establish any associated psychological injury and to recommend treatment. This work often occurs in a medico-legal setting, with the psychologist providing an expert witness report to the court.
Psychle offers expert mood assessments for the courts in line with current best practice and our reports are written in compliance with section 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules. We use a combination of structured interviews and psychometric measures to achieve a detailed, evidence-based assessment.
